Void Rivals #15

Writer Robert Kirkman has a ton of intriguing subplots playing out this installment of avoid Rivals.

Pythian leads her contingent of Cobra-La further into space on their excursion only to get caught by a regular supporting cast member who’s thrilled to have a prize to take to his family.

Darak has to keep the peace when he arrives back at his home world with Hot Rod in tow  allowing for an Autobot reunion that doesn’t lead to a shocking quick death sequence. Solila and Handroid continue their search for Zerta Trion with a surprising result. And Proximus begins his recovery before resuming his hunt for the two heroes.

A lot is playing out, but Kirkman keeps it from feeling too haphazard and randomly strewn together. The character interplay continues to be excellent and one of the best aspects of the title.

Artist Lorenzo De Felici keeps his impressive pace up with gorgeous artwork and plenty of personality with the characters. With so many various scenes it’s easy to forget there was no action this issue, but De Felici makes that irrelevant thanks to the feeling that important events are playing out.

Colorist Patricio Delpeche keeps the bright tones intact while weaving in more reds and greens to the normal base color scheme of oranges and purples. Letterer Rus Wooton keeps the dialogue engaging with various fonts for the different species in this issue.

Void Rivals #15 was another stellar issue of this saga with such richly defined and entertaining characters that the lack of action is an afterthought. With hype building for next issue this is one fans shouldn’t miss to be caught up before the big events next month.
