Falling in Love on the Path to Hell 8

falling in love on the path to hell 8

Falling in Love’s latest issue is a tremendous mix of action, drama and the poetic chaos that’s been the norm for the series.

Writer Gerry Duggan starts the issue with a look at the series’ villain Mohan.

Duggan kept Mohan’s true nature a mystery for a reasonable amount of time so the reveal that Mohan was always a shady individual dating back to his life in 1877 India still packs an impact. In the present day, Mohan thinks he’s got a new ace up his sleeve — one that could help him finally be rid of Asami and MacRaith.

The cowboy and samurai are working on their own plans to be rid of Mohan and escape the Styx.

As usual, Duggan does an excellent job making the characters sound distinct to fully play up their different cultures, backgrounds and experiences.

The artwork from Garry Brown is really sensational. His art is such a tremendous fit for the book as he crafts these really gorgeous visuals that match the near poetic dialogue.

Colorist Chris O’Halloran uses darker hues for this story as this isn’t some uplifting, cheery portion of the arc. It’s gotten deadly serious.

This issue ends with a strong cliffhanger, which suggests even the path to hell could be a rocky one for Asami and MacGraith. That’s bad for them and a fascinating read for fans.
