GI Joe Classified Series Rattler Baroness review No. 183 (2025)

With the HasLab Rattler Baroness, we get the other ace pilot in the Cobra ranks and a smart inclusion for the 2024 HasLab. When I first started reading the G.I. Joe comics, it was Baroness who personally flew Cobra Commander around, which was yet another reason why she was so vital to the organization.

I was glad to see the Rattler Baroness included as one of the tiers as she would no doubt help the project reach the third and final tier, but also due to this being a cool nod to comic book fans. As another bonus, this looked to feature the best head sculpts options for Baroness by far.

Let’s see if the Rattler Baroness is going to end up being among the best of 2025 for the Classified Series figure offerings or if she needs to stay covered in the Dorsal Gunner position permanently.

Packaging: None of the figures included with the HasLab are shown in the Rattler box like some of the old Real American Hero vehicles, but they do get individual Classified Series boxes.

They also have shared mural images on the side and rear. Rattler Baroness is 183 in this set but has the final image on the rear mural and is positioned to the right of Wild Weasel on the side mural.

I really enjoyed the side art showing the figures in action presumably after The Rattler crashed. Baroness’ alternate side panel shows her Fearsome Fangs Tank Smasher patch along with her skill stats.

Rattler Baroness’ skill set rankings are a 4 star in disguise (naturally) and intelligence, a 3 star in aerial combat and a 1 light weapons.

Likeness: While we await a traditional paint job of the Crimson Strike Team Baroness, the Rattler Baroness is going to comfortably take the spot as the best Baroness figure Hasbro has released so far.

It seems like the torso is all-new complete with her harness and neck collar. Maybe Hasbro reused most of the Retro Scarlett mold for the arms, waist and legs. The harness fits snugly so nothing is riding up while still having enough flexibility to not restrict posing her movement.

Minus the harness, it seems like this base body would make for an easy early comic book/original cartoon mini-series Baroness.

Now onto her head sculpt, which is fantastic. The Strike Team version had a great one that was more in line with typical portraits of The Baroness. Rattler Baroness has an even better one with a slimmer, more angular face with a steely, cold expression.

The default hair sculpt is also fantastic with a perfect flow of her classic look. For the sake of articulation, it doesn’t have the wavy flow in the back like the original Real American Hero card art. This is a spectacular head sculpt and has to be right up in the Top 5 of best head sculpts in the line.

Rattler Baroness also is wearing a dual holster so she can rest her pistols when she’s not in a firefight. This addition isn’t essential for a pilot or gunner, but it just fits for the always dangerous Baroness.

Scale: Rattler Baroness scales in perfectly with the existing Cobra High Command as she’s shorter than both Cobra Commander and Destro. I’m still waiting on a taller Destro, as he is the Cobra agent most out of scale since he’s too close in height to Cobra Commander. Baroness is fine however as she’s a tad shorter than being able to look Cobra Commander eye to eye.

Paint: Rattler Baroness isn’t as paint demanding as some other figures as she’s mostly in a dark midnight blue with some flat black for the gloves and boots and a touch of red and grey on the harness.

The Joe CS team did stellar work on her Tank Smashers tank patch It’s rare when I find a Joe CS figure with a paint job error.

The subtle work with Baroness’ makeup is also really, really solid. Also of note, the bottom of her heels have gold paint — the better to match her guns I suppose?

Articulation: Rattler Baroness is a very easy figure to pose. Her joints are tight and even with the high heels she doesn’t have any trouble hitting poses.

She’s got the usual Classified Series articulation, which naturally is somewhat hampered by her harness. Based on the attire, this isn’t the everyday Baroness outfit — this is just for when she’s with The Rattler.

Accessories: While part of a HasLab, Rattler Baroness gets a ton of accessories.

First up are the numerous head and hair options. Baroness has removable glasses, which aren’t my preference since they never quite sit as flush as I’d like. Due to the hairstyles, you can kinda wedge them in place, but it doesn’t look as smooth.

That’s the big gripe as far as the accessories go as the rest is superb.

Let’s discuss the hairstyles. The first alternate features her hair pulled back away from her face save for a lone strand and the rest behind her back. That’s a different look for Baroness and seems like a great option for an action.

Next up is more of a beehive hairstyle with strands on both sides of her face.

Rattler Baroness also gets a helmet in case Wild Weasel needs a break and you want another pilot for the Rattler. The various hairstyles don’t work with the helmet, so you’ll just need to imagine her hair is pulled up while she’s wearing it.

Additionally, she’s got a set of headphones, which are a good fit on any hair sculpt.

She also has two pistols, with gold accents that seem very fitting for Baroness. They fit snugly in her hands and the holsters.

Finally, she’s got a sniper rifle. Maybe she uses that on missions where Wild Weasel lands in an airfield and Baroness has to take out a precise target?

Worth It?  Figure price on a HasLab is part of the cost of the deal, but he certainly feels like a solid $24.99 figure.

The Cobra Rattler Baroness is a fantastic figure. The only gripe is the setup for the glasses. I’m hoping Hasbro reuses this one for an original Baroness.

Where to Get It?  As part of the HasLab, the only way to get the Cobra Rattler Gunner is via The Rattler or paying an exorbitant amount on eBay.
