Marvel Legends Adam Warlock review (2025)
Adam Warlock was long overdue for a new Marvel Legends figure prior to his stint as a member of the Guardians of the Galaxy.
Since the ML team skew fairly 90s heavy with their choices it wasn’t surprising the next one was based on Adam’s 90s appearances. Given that he had a major role in the Infinity Gauntlet storyline that made sense especially as we’re close to getting all of the characters in those particular costumes from Marvel Legends.
Let’s see if this IG version of Adam Warlock is indeed Him or if it’s just a relic of the 90s best left forgotten.
Packaging: Adam Warlock is part of the special Marvel Legends wave focusing on Marvel Comics milestones. This packaging is set up to look like a comic book complete with the corner box, a prominent Infinity Gauntlet logo and background art from Adam leading the charge against Thanos.
I like the blue color scheme with black accents used for this wave. His name tag is done with purple accents to keep changing it up from the other figures. On the back is the cross sell with the other figures in the wave and a better look at the IG #1 cover.
This was an odd choice since issue 3 features him in the center leading the attack on Thanos. The bio naturally is small with a quick summary of Adam’s role in the big event.
Likeness: Adam Warlock is yet another figure making good use of that Vulcan mold. It’s a smart choice for him as it’s muscular buck without looking too underwhelming.
Way back at their start with the license, Hasbro delivered an extremely subpar Adam Warlock doomed by lackluster paint work and a disappointing head sculpt and articulation flow.
Given the advancement in technology and Hasbro having a skilled team in place makes a ton of difference. The head sculpt is fantastic matching up very well with George Perez’s take of the character.
You can’t go wrong using Perez as the base artist for a figure. While I do wish he had a neutral head expression, the base gritted teeth portrait is a solid choice for him.
Hasbro also did a nice job with his cape, which properly drapes along his shoulders thanks to the skull head clasp. His high collar should be wider and sit higher up on the cape.
Other outfit details are left for the paintwork, which isn’t some egregious problem.
If you’re interested, the new head sculpt can fit on the Guardians of the Galaxy figure though you will need to secure the head in the neck peg a bit.
Paint: Adam Warlock has a relatively simple costume with a black bodysuit accentuated with longer gloves and above the knee-high boots.
The line distinction between the boots and gloves is clean like I’d expect with those two stronger colors.
His head sculpt does get some nice paint apps with black circles subtly printed around his eyes.
Adam’s cape is red with a yellow interior.

Scale: Adam Warlock stands at 6’2″ — the same as Dr. Strange — so he should be looking up at the 6’4″ Silver Surfer and the 6’7″ Thanos. Adam is just a bit taller than Strange while Silver Surfer is too short.
Articulation: Adam Warlock has no issues with most of the basic ML poses.
The cape is positioned in a way that it doesn’t fully restrict his movements, but a flying straight ahead pose won’t look that great.
In fairness, Adam Warlock isn’t a huge brawler and is much more of a melee fighter. The Vulcan mold makes it pretty easy to hit dynamic expressive poses.
Adam Warlock has:
- neck
- ball-jointed shoulders (butterfly shoulders)
- bicep
- elbow (double-jointed)
- wrist
- wrist hinge
- torso
- hip
- thigh
- knee (double-jointed)
- ankle
Accessories: Adam Warlock has a larger accessory count than most figures in this wave. Save an additional head sculpt he gets everything he needed.
First is a swappable set of fists. That’s useful for when he does need to slug it out with Thanos.
Next is an Infinity Gauntlet sized for his hand. The detail on this is pretty good (and as a bonus, it can be used for other figures as well.)
Additionally, he gets his Karmic staff. The sculpt features the bird crest at the top. That design has changed enough that I’ll give Hasbro the credit for getting the hawk detail down.
Finally, he’s got the mini-comic with a digital print of the Infinity Gauntlet cover. Adam Warlock can hold it for any meta pictures you’d like to take.
Worth it? Adam Warlock is the standard Marvel Legends price point of $24.99. Some retailers are raising prices on figures so that might not stay the standard for much longer.
Adam Warlock fared pretty well on the accessories front for a figure without a Build-A-Figure for this price point.
Rating: 9.5 out of 10
Hasbro did a nice job with this Infinity Gauntlet style version of Warlock. I do wish they could have given him an alternate cape that could enshroud him like in the series, but otherwise this is a very well-done figure.
Where to Get It? Unlike some recent Marvel Legends series, this wave is widely available at retail from Target, GameStop and Walmart. You can also get him from Amazon or Entertainment Earth.
