DC Comics reviews 11/26/25 – Absolute Batman 14, DC KO 2
Green Arrow 30
In a fair and justice comic book landscape, Green Arrow 30 would just be the penultimate chapter of the latest arc instead of the series. The Crimson Sands arc has been one of the best this year and has made the best possible case for why the series deserves a stay of execution. It’s been outstanding.
Writer Chris Condon uses this issue for Green Arrow’s big confrontation with the Crimson Archer, who made his overdose of drug addicts personal when he attacked Arsenal. Green Arrow learned Crimson Archer actually had some ties to Oliver Queen making this battle far more than a new hotshot archer in Star City.
Condon has done such a stellar job with Oliver’s voice, and this issue was no exception. He’s so much more than Batman with a bow and arrow and Condon fully understands how to show that he’s special. Crimson Archer made for a strong despicable villain since he feels justified with his actions. Oliver doesn’t have to fight on his own as Roy and Lian arrive to provide some backup.

This gives artist Montos an opportunity to just show off some brilliant panel layouts. Montos has fully delivered on every issue, but the panel construction this issue was another level of excellence. Adriano Lucas’ rich color work was on full display as he played up the infused arrows Crimson Archer utilized. Letterer Buddy Beaudoin has such a unique presentation for the text and sound effects and this archer vs archer battle allowed for even more creativity.
The home stretch is over for Green Arrow. This creative team has just one final issue left, but if any on the block/slated for cancellation series from DC deserved a lifeline, it’s Green Arrow.
