2025 WAFCA Awards – Sinners earns heavenly 10 awards

Sinners was the historically huge winner for the 2025 WAFCA Awards. The Washington Area Film Critics Association, of which I am a voting member, selected the Ryan Coogler epic for 10 awards. That is the most awards received for one film in the 23-year history of WAFCA.

The awards are always a fun process. I tend to be on the same page with my colleagues in terms of the Best Picture but have different standouts for the acting awards and some of the more technical award. That wasn’t the case for the 2025 WAFCA Awards as I was pretty much in lockstep with the selections — with one selection though I’m not disappointed about it.
