GI Joe Classified Series Jinx action figure review No. 124 (2024)

Jinx arrived in GI Joe right before the brand got a little too ninja-happy. For a brief moment, the Joe ninja force was comprised of Snake Eyes and Jinx before seemingly every wave added another ninja.

Of course none achieved the same level of acclaim as Jinx, who had a featured role in GI Joe: The Movie and the decent live-action film GI Joe: Retaliation.

Now she gets her biggest acclaim as Jinx makes her (overdue) arrival to the GI Joe Classified Series line.

Let’s see if Jinx is a cut above or she if this is a figure that only her blind ninja master could love.

Packaging: Jinx has the usual packaging that I have officially run out of new things to say about. She’s No. 124 in the line meaning I’m tackling this review way out of order.

One side of the package has the smaller version of the stats along with the QR Code to nowhere. The other has a nice portrait of Jinx ready for action. Over on the back, she’s practicing her blindfold fighting techniques — maybe against Beach-Head?

Her skill sets are consistent with 3s across the board in bladed weapons, infiltration, ninjitsu and intelligence.

Likeness: Jinx isn’t a direct 6” reproduction of Real American Hero look where she wore a shinobi shozoku.

For her Classified Series look, the Hasbro team ditched the sleeves and gave her wraps around her wrists and forearms. It’s suitably baggy like her RAH figure particularly around her legs.

She also has bands around her shins and ankles along with a necklace with a gem charm attached to it.

In another nod to GI Joe The Movie, her default head sculpt is her unmasked portrait. She’s got a short, swooshing hairstyle and a determined expression. Her belt slash is slanted higher on the left hip with the tie hanging on her hip.

Scale: Jinx hasn’t normally been shown to be especially tall and she’s looking up at Snake Eyes. That puts her a little taller than Scarlett, but not as tall as Helix.

Paint: She has a solid paintjob with some nice intricate detailing. There’s some nice eye shadow and blush applications to give her face some color without making it look like she’s heading to the club right after dealing with Cobra.

Her original outfit featured a large dragon in the center, but her Classified Series figure has a smaller dragon on the upper left portion. In the initial design of the Classified Series, Hasbro showed Storm Shadow with a full sleeve tattoo on his left arm. RAH purists weren’t a fan of that look for Storm Shadow, but the CS team decided to give that idea another shot with his cousin, and it works pretty well.

Jinx has circles and flowers along her right arm with a mix of tattoo ink black and pink. It’s a nice effect and shows further distinction with her being a younger member of the Arashikage Clan. Her outfit isn’t a flat red as the sides feature more of a brick red to break it up a bit.

Articulation: As a ninja, Jinx needs high-end articulation. Fortunately, that’s a specialty for the Classified Series line. She can hit dramatic kicks and sword slashes and strikes allowing you to tackle all the essential Jinx poses.

She’s got her masked portrait with a dedicated ninja look.

In a nod to some of her big moments from GI Joe The Movie, Jinx also gets a blindfold to cover her eyes while she’s in intense battles or training sessions.

She also gets her naginata spear with silver blades, brown grips and a black staff.

Finally, she’s got her katana with a sheath that plugs into her back.

The katana has solid details on the blade.

Worth It? Jinx was $24.99, which is the usual solid value for this line with so many accessories included. She is available for $18.99 in case you were waiting out for a discount.

Jinx gets a terrific figure with plenty of accessories and display options with good articulation and terrific sculpted details.
