Jada Toys Mega Man – Ice Man review (2023)
Ice Man was another of the original Robot Master that Mega Man faced in the first game, so it makes sense that he was among the first of Jada Toys’ Mega Man wave. I’ve grabbed Mega Man and Fire Man and have little concern that Ice Man will disappoint.
Let’s see if this frosty Robot Master is indeed another cool release or if this one just leaves me chilly.
Packaging: I appreciate how Jada does something special with each of their lines. The Mega Man packaging is set up like the game’s loading screen with an energy bar on the left side. I love the artwork showing Ice Man in action though it’d be better if both sides featured the unique character instead of the 8-bit take of Mega Man.
My one knock with the presentation is the lack of a bio, but we do get a shot of the other two figures in this initial wave as well as the game selection screen images of the other Robot Masters. That’s a fun touch.
Likeness: I remain impressed with how Jada makes their figures look so similar while adding plenty of subtle details that make each one unique. Ice Man is a little pudgier than Mega Man with a rounder head and torso. It looks like the only reuse from Mega Man is the arms and fists for sure and maybe the feet as well.
His uniquely sculpted sections are of course, his head with Ice Man rocking a parka-style hood with fantastic detail — per this design — for the wooly fur fringe. Additionally, he’s got a wide belt with studs throughout. The basic designs of the characters make for easy figures, but it never seems like Jada mails it in. They’re designed with care and capture the essence of each robot.
Scale: Ice Man is the shortest of the three figures released so far. That’s fun as it helps to add some diversity to the shelf. It’s also a commendable decision as Jada Toys easily could have just used the Mega Man mold, slapped on the new parts and called it a day, but to adhere to a scale among the Robot Masters is something you wouldn’t see from other companies.

Paint: Ice Man has a relatively clean paint job. The typical ice color scheme of blue and white always makes for a nice contrast and the hues used here help to make him stand out even next to the all-blue Mega Man.
Ironically, the biggest paint issue is underneath the belt, but since he’s a shorter character that won’t be visible unless he was on an elevated shelf. The rest of the paintjob is solid.
Articulation: Ice Man basically jumped and spewed his Ice Slasher, so he doesn’t need a ton of articulation. Not like that would stop Jada Toys, who gives him a very solid range of motion thanks to the deep joint cuts.
This makes him very easy to pose in as creative a fashion as your imagination will allow.

Accessories: Ice Man follows the usual Jada Toys accessory pattern.
He’s got an open left hand and a right hand to channel his Ice Slasher.
Naturally, the Ice Slasher is included. It’s done in a translucent ice-blue shade and can be placed in his mouth. If you’d choose to have it in air after he’s unleashed it, there is a clear stand to place it.
Finally, he’s got an alternate head — that basically shows Ice Man after he’s blown the Ice Slasher out.
Worth it? The normal price on these figures is around $21.99, but I was able to take advantage of a Walmart sale and got him for $10. That’s a fantastic price for a figure that’s totally worthy of that standard price.

Ice Man is another outstanding addition to the Jada Toys Mega Man line. He certainly makes it easy to get further invested in this line.
