Marvel Legends X-Force Nightcrawler figure review (2025) – BAF Nemesis wave
X-Force Nightcrawler gets fans of the amazing Rick Remender run one step closer to having the full Uncanny team roster in the Marvel Legends line.
Uncanny X-Force has been one of the best Marvel Comics series in the last 20 years. Having a team in a uniform look is a rarity in Marvel Legends. X-Force Nightcrawler for a seamless addition to the squad.
Let’s see if X-Force Nightcrawler is all set to pop in to a prominent spot on the X-Force display or if he should be banished to limbo.
Packaging: This is the first Build a Figure wave of 2025 and features the boxier packaging style. With so many Retro and Deluxe releases we don’t get this presentation too often. This one is black with yellow and red accents with artwork of X-Force Nightcrawler on either side.
He’s got a very basic bio and another panel of artwork on the back.
It would’ve been cool to explain this is the Nightcrawler from the Age of Apocalypse reality who joins up with X-Force after they enter his world.
Likeness: This is essentially the same Nightcrawler as the one from the Build-A-Figure Wendigo wave with pinless joints.
While it’s been a few years, the mold still holds up well as a great option for Nightcrawler with the sculpted collar/shoulder piece and unique hands and feet. And of course, his tail.
The default head works well for X-Force Nightcrawler as he’s far less cheerful than his 616 counterpart. is one of those cases where I wish Hasbro would keep in mind various era of characters. With a mullet, this Hasbro definitely wins this one in my book.
To maintain the articulation, Hasbro made the chest piece separate at the torso point, which was a smart move for aesthetics as well. His tail isn’t bendable, but it’s got some movement to it so it’s not just hanging down flat.

Scale: X-Force Nightcrawler didn’t tend to hunch down like the 616 Nightcrawler so he would more directly look teammates like Deadpool, Psylocke and Fantomex eye to eye. He’s taller than Wolverine.
Paint: X-Force Nightcrawler swaps out most of the red in his costume for an grey-white outfit under his black collar piece. The gloves and boots are white with a black trim.
The only trace of red is face paint across his left eye and the red X on his outfit. I dig that the ML team added the blue highlights to his hair just like the comics.
Articulation: Nightcrawler is one of the most agile characters in the Marvel Universe and his figure needs to be as well. Fortunately, this mold can handle all of the poses you’d need.
X-Force Nightcrawler has:

- bicep
- elbow (double-jointed)
- wrist
- wrist hinge
- torso
- waist
- hip
- thigh
- knee (double-jointed)
- ankle
Accessories: X-Force Nightcrawler gets a number of useful accessories.
He’s got an alternate head sculpt with a fierce expression ready for battle. This was also reused from the early Nightcrawler, but it remains very effective with this version.
He also has a set of swappable fists and a clutching right hand to hold his cutlass. Again, it’s the same one Hasbro used for Citizen V only this time it has a black hilt instead of gold.
Finally, Nightcrawler comes with the head and helmet of the Build-A-Figure Nemesis.
Worth it? I picked up X-Force Nightcrawler for $25. That’s a solid value got this price point when the factor in the BAF part.

This is a really great figure that looks tremendous with the rest of the Remender-era X-Force. It’s a simple repaint, but sometimes it’s just a matter of not messing up the layup.
