WWE Legends Series 24 Hulk Hogan review (2025)
Hulk Hogan might not be greeted with cheers by WWE fans now, but there was a time when the first strands of his music blared, the fans would erupt.
I’ve set up my WWF collection in rows mostly based on years. The Ultimate Edition WrestleMania 3 covers mid-80s Hogan, but I needed a latter years version of The Hulkster for a circa 1990-1992 area for his feuds against the likes of Ric Flair, The Undertaker and Sid Justice. And thanks to the usual Target Legends clearance sale when the next batch is set to arrive, I got him for a
Mattel has done pretty good work on their Hogan figures so I’m not expecting any surprises here. But let’s see if it all comes crashing with this release.
Packaging: Legends Series 24 retains the hourglass shape in a manner to reduce the plastic while still allowing the figure and accessories to be shown off easily enough. Both sides feature an image of a hyped-up slightly older Hogan ready for action.
The bio is as awesome as ever, setting the stage for Hogan’s WrestleMania 8 “farewell” match against Sid Justice.
Likeness: Legends 24 Hogan utilizes the same mold as the previous Hulk figures, which makes sense. He’s a character that Mattel has found the appropriate body parts for and wisely don’t deviate from it.
Pre-1993, Hogan still was taking all of his vitamins and had his massive physique. The thicker torso works well for his frame and he’s got the wider, muscular thighs to avoid making him look chicken legged. And they help in getting his proper height with the longer, tall yellow boots.
The highlight with this Hulk figure is the head sculpt. The Hulkster definitely looked a little older from his 1985 era with a less puffy face and slightly thinner hair.
Scale: Hogan stood at 6’7” making him taller than most of his peers including the 6’1″ Flair and 6’4″ Sgt. Slaughter while he’s looking up at the 6’9″ Sid Justice and 6’10” Undertaker. He’s scaled very well.
Paint: As always, the most important aspect of Hogan in the 80s/early 90s was his deep tan. Early Mattel Hulkster figures lacked this, but now the paint job is the standard. The Legends 24 Hogan has the darker skin tone with clean work for his handlebar mustache, which wasn’t always the case with Hogan figures.
Just as impressive is the (mostly perfectly) clean work for his yellow boots with the white laces. Those two colors are notoriously hard to paint on their own let alone together.

Articulation: Hogan was never a real technical whiz and by 92, he wasn’t trying to be too innovative with his offense. It’s not like he’s Kanyon. That makes Hulk an easy figure to replicate his move set with the Elite articulation scheme.
You’re not going to have any problem pulling off Hogan’s arsenal of clotheslines, punches, chops, body slams and a simplex. Ditto for the elbow smashes, big boots and of course the leg drop.
Hulk Hogan has:
- neck
- bicep
- ball-jointed shoulders
- elbows (double-jointed)
- wrists
- wrist hinge
- torso
- waist
- hips
- thighs
- knees (double-jointed)
- ankles
Accessories: This is where the Legends 24 Hulk really comes up short.
He’s got two additional set of swappable hands — clutching and pointing.
Additionally, he’s got a soft goods T-shirt based on his ring entrance. Hogan actually kept the shirt on for a bit during the match, so this is a worthwhile one to make.
Unfortunately, Mattel’s WWE opted to do the standard ripping shirt set-up so the shirt has a Velcro connection creating an ugly seam down the middle. At this point Mattel really needed to make one shirt with the seam and one clean one for those who don’t want to pose every Hogan figure ripping off their T-shirt.
Hogan has a new bandana with a Hulkster Rules tampo, which is very clean. Thankfully it is removable and not permanently affixed to his head.
Worth it? WWE Legends figures are $22.99, but I got Hulkster for $7.50, which is a stellar price point.
Rating: 8.5 out of 10
Mattel is getting close to milking out the last few necessary Hulk figures. This does provide for a pre-WrestleMania 90s Hogan, but I don’t know how many more red and yellows are necessary. Especially with this new older head sculpt in the mix.
Where to get it? This Legends wave is basically out of stock in Target stores, the exclusive home for Legends figures. You can still get Legends 24 Hogan from Target’s website.
