With the unexpected support of the villagers at his side, Ash is more motivated than ever to taking down Bataar — especially now that he’s found others he cares about again. This is the liveliest issue of the series, which covers some significant ground.

Writer/artist/letterer Ludo Lullabi really delivers on all fronts with his unique vision in regard to the art with larger-than-life anime style action, a sense of urgency on both fronts of the battle in the script and bombastic sound effects.

Colorist Adriano Lucas is just as up to the task with bold, bright colors that further accentuate this visual big screen style presentation.

Bataar wants nothing to do with this fight and has ceded control of his forces over to Mingi, who feels equally rattled in the face of Ash looking for payback. Mingi has a darker influence offering assistance even if it’s not particularly helpful. That’s a stark contrast to Ash, who has found plenty of friends and allies willing to have his back.

The issue ends with a captivating cliffhanger that hopefully doesn’t foreshadow any closure to the series, which feels like it’s only just begun what should be a long and lengthy adventure.
