Marvel Legends Werewolf By Night review (2025)
Werewolf By Night was overdue for a Marvel Legends figure. It’d been years since his Disney+ special, which should have raised his profile for a figure. The wait is finally over for WBN fans with one of the in before the year waves.
Let’s see if Werewolf By Night gets a figure worth howling about or if I’ll be rooting for a lack of full moons anytime soon.
Packaging: This wave is the second Build A Figure wave of 2025. It’s done in the usual dominant black color scheme with a purple backdrop, a turquoise button for the BAF tab and a bright red box with a prominent Marvel logo in the center.
There’s a nice mix of artwork featuring WBN. The bio is ok for a one sentence summary of the character.
Likeness: Werewolf By Night uses the Jackal torso, arms and feet. That figure came out in 2017, but it’s got sculpted fur elements that make for a smart fit for WBN.
He’s got new pants with a tear in the right knee to show some more exposed fur.
The head sculpt is fine. It’s got a yelling expression with his fangs visible. It’s an intense sculpt that would benefit from the hair looking wilder and cropped a bit tighter. It’s too neat for a werewolf and kinda meets up too neatly with his beard. Even with the yelling expression he looks a bit too put together like he’s a werewolf influencer.
Scale: Werewolf By Night is about average height. He’s around the same height as Moon Knight although the figure is about half a head taller.

Paint: Werewolf By Night has a basic paint scheme with his brown fur and green pants. Hasbro gave some of his fur darker brown paint apps although a black wash would have been nice as well to bring out more of the fur sculpted details.
Finer details like his teeth, tongue and belt buckle are well done. The best job with the paintwork comes via the shading around his yellow eyes. That makes for a really nice effect.
Articulation: Werewolf By Night has decent articulation and can hit a number of solid poses.
The problem is WBN is a character that really would benefit tremendously from having butterfly shoulder joints for more dramatic slashing poses. Older mold reuse is fine provided it has the bare minimum of articulation fans have come to expect from any male Marvel Legends figure since 2023.

Accessories: By far the biggest problem with Werewolf By Night is the lack of accessories. The obvious inclusion was an alternate head sculpt with a different expression.
Fists also could have worked but to throw a figure out in 2025 with a price tag closer to $30 than $20 with no accessories is a disgrace.
Ironically his one inclusion — the left arm for the Build A Figure Executioner — comes with an alternate left gripping hand.
Worth It? Werewolf By Night is $27.99, the new higher price point for Hasbro figures. That’s way too much for a figure using an older mold and no accessories to sweeten the deal. Unless you’re in a rush to build Executioner, you’re better off waiting on a sale to get WBN.
Rating: 8 out of 10
WBN is a pretty decent figure hindered just a bit by the one expression head sculpt and lack of butterfly shoulders for more expressive poses.
