G.I. Joe Classified Series Snake Eyes V4 action figure review No.165 (2025)
Snake Eyes V4 is another very cool variant for the Joe’s commando ninja. During the Real American Hero heyday, Snakes was getting a bunch of variants every few years, so this look didn’t stay around too long. During the classic Marvel run, the Snake Eyes V4 was featured in a memorable arc featuring three stories playing out at once.
While arguably Snake Eyes’ most popular look (V2) still hasn’t gotten cross off in the G.I. Joe Classified Series line, this is fun departure from other versions. Let’s see if Snake Eyes V4 will become a sneaky favorite or if he’ll need to take his goalie mask and sit in the penalty box.
Packaging: Snake Eyes V4 rocks the usual setup with the QR Code to nowhere and the skills stats on the right side. On the left, is a pretty sweet drawing of Snakes heading into action along with a completely kick-tail drawing on the left side.
Over on the back, a fun scenario is playing out with Snake Eyes on a mountain with FANG helicopters closing in. I don’t like their odds. Snake Eyes V4 has the same skill sets as he gets all top marks of 4s in covert ops, bladed weapons, stealth and ninjitsu.
Likeness: Snake Eyes V4 features the biggest departure from his previous and subsequent outfits. He’s wearing big googles instead of a visor or larger looking sunglasses.
His mouth is covered this time with a goalie-style grill. Both the goggles and mouth covering were bound together in the RAH figure while the Classified version makes the mouth cover more of a half mask with the goggles situated like a regular slip down to his ears and eyes like standard glasses. I dig the grated look for the half mask and the more complex paneled setup.
The torso is basically a 6″ tooled up, heavily detailed version of the RAH figure’s tactical harness vest. He also retains the forearm bracers and shin armor. The new elements are a belt angled to the side, a thigh sheath with slots for four non-removable small daggers on his right leg. He’s got a holster on his left thigh.
Scale: Snake Eyes V4 keeps the same height as his sword brother Storm Shadow. During this costume’s era, he typically was shown with the Ninja Force, Flint, Duke, Roadblock and Lady Jaye. He measures up pretty well with the previous figures.

Paint: CS figures normally have clean paintjobs. Snake Eyes V4 has a fun color palette that makes him stand out from other Snake Eyes figures. His goggles are a bright red with blue trim. Some of the blue spills over into the silver mouth guard. He’s wearing a blue top that’s largely obscured by the black tactical vest with gray harnesses and pouches as well as the black forearm armor.
The sheath pad and holster break up the black pants. The CS team did swap some colors shifting the blue shin armor to black and moving the blue to his calves. Smaller details like the daggers are clean with the silver handles and red hilts.
There are kanji characters on both bracers — the left says Raijin for the thunder god and the right says Kujin for the Japanese wind god. That’s a fun extra level of detail. Shout out to my guy, Action Figure Barbecue, for the translation.
Articulation: Snake Eyes V4 needs full range for his ninja commando activities. This mold allows most of what I was anticipating including the restrictions placed by the vest, which does limit his torso movement.
He does have plenty of range in his shoulders, elbows, hips and knees though, so he is able to do the standard Classified Series articulation.
He can swing swords and aim his gun to take down Cobra agents with no trouble.

Accessories: Snake Eyes V4 has plenty of gear to offer tons of display options.
To start, Snake gets a pair of katanas with detailed hilts. With the RAH version, the katanas and blades were a very toy-like red. The CS team made them more realistic but did add a red trim into the blade.
He’s got a red grapple hook. The RAH figure had a spring-loaded grapple hook missile that was a massive and wild accessory. Just having the grapple hook is a little weird since there’s nothing to launch it but is more practical for Snake Eyes.
To store most of his gear, he’s got a mini backpack for his katanas. In what’s been a legacy issue for Classified Series figures is the backpack peg is too short and doesn’t plug in firmly.
His main weapon is a MP5 submachine gun. It has red accents with a removable magazine and suppressor, which is helpful for silent interlude style missions. The holster for it is lousy as there’s nothing to actually keep it in place so it’s better to keep the gun in his hand.
Worth It? Snake Eyes V4 has a generous array of accessories that easily makes his $25 price point worth it.

Snake Eyes V4 is a fun figure with some color to make him really pop. His holster is messy and the katana backpack could fit snugger, but the figure itself is really nicely done.
