McFarlane Toys DC Multiverse JLA Flash review (2025)
JLA Flash was definitely on my list of most-needed figures from McFarlane Toys as they’re winding down their run (heh-heh) with the DC license. Over the years, we’ve gotten a pretty decent lineup of the iconic Grant Morrison and Howard Porter squad with Wally West being the last of the core seven to get done.
Previously, McFarlane released a Justice League video game version, but this is the first traditional 90s JLA Flash. Let’s see if this version will be speed off with the title of best Wally West Flash.
Package: JLA Flash is in the standard Multiverse setup with the mostly black package with blue and white accents. The side just states this is the JLA version of The Flash.
Over on the back is the cover to JLA #1 focusing on Wally. That’s a solid image choice made better by the fact that it actually features Porter’s artwork.
Likeness: For the most part, the JLA Flash is the same as the Flashpoint Flash figure. It’s the smooth McFarlane body used for the Blue Beetle with new boots that really should have been the base choice for countless figures instead of using the inaccurate Beetle boots.
There are a few tweaks for the Wally figure. His lighting belt is thicker and lowers in the middle like a point unlike his uncle Barry’s wraparound version. Wally’s boots also don’t have the wings that Barry rocked.
Fittingly, Wally has another head sculpt. This is the same one used in the JL Task Force video game figure. It’s fine as it there are plenty of references to a more focused Wally, but the furrowed brow and stern expression doesn’t fully line up with Wally’s personality.
I still appreciate McFarlane using softer plastic for the ear wings.

Scale: Howard Porter typically drew Wally right around the same height as most of his JLA teammates. He was about an inch taller than the 5’11” Kyle Rayner and an inch taller shorter than the 6’1″ Aquaman.
He was slighter than both and Porter tended to draw Wally leaning as if he was about to take off running. He’s definitely looking up to most of his JLA teammates, so the scale is more than a little off.
Paint: To make sure Wally stood out from Barry’s costume, his red was more of a darker scarlet red and the lightning bolts, ear wings and boots were gold instead of yellow. And his mask had the eyes whited out. The paint job is nice and clean here, as is the case with most McFarlane figures.
The big question mark was the center logo and the white is bright with the gold lighting bolt very clean framed with the black circle. I really dig the crispness of the gold. That really helps make the figure pop.
Articulation: JLA Flash moves smoothly as you’d expect from this mold, which is by far the best option in the McFarlane vault for a fluid, agile speedster. He can easily hit dynamic running poses although for some, you’ll probably want the included stand if you want more dramatic stances.
Flash is always a nice and easy figure to arrange in a Justice League display as he’s one of the few whose powers you can convey by a simple running stance.

Accessories: For the JLA Flash, McFarlane Toys gives him useful accessories instead of random lightning bolts.
He’s got a set of open hands for more active running poses as well as one flat left hand. Instead of a matching one, he gets a pointing right hand. I guess that mixes it up some, but I’d just prefer a match to the flat left hand.
JLA Flash also gets the standard black stand, which definitely helps in crafting more dynamic running poses. Finally, he gets the usual trading card with the bio.
Worth it? JLA Flash is $25 the going rate for McFarlane figures. While he’s not loaded with accessories, this is a really nicely done Wally West figure.
Rating: 10 out of 10
JLA Flash is a very welcome addition to the JLA display and for fans of the 90s Fastest Man Alive. This is one of the stronger releases from McFarlane in recent waves.
