McFarlane Toys DC Multiverse Sinestro review (2026)
The DC Multiverse Sinestro classic collectors have been anticipating has finally arrived.
Sinestro is one of the classic evil mirror images of a hero and is an essential member of any DC figure collection. Ironically, it took decades for him to truly be the dark mirror of Green Lantern with his yellow and black Sinestro Corps attire. That meant his blue and black outfit was spotlighted in the Challenge of the Super Friends and Justice League cartoon series and remains his definitive look.
McFarlane Toys delivered a solid Sinestro Corps version, but we still needed that classic look especially with the line in its last few months. Fortunately, they did come through in one of the stronger final waves with some much-needed characters.
Let’s shine a light on the classic DC Multiverse Sinestro and see if he shines or if this effort is truly worth fearing.
Packaging: Sinestro is in the standard Multiverse packaging with the mostly black color scheme with white and blue accents.
On the back is an image of Sinestro facing off with his archrival Hal Jordan.
Likeness: DC Multiverse Sinestro uses the same head as the Sinestro that was a Green Lantern version with the Sinestro Corps logo peering out. It’s a solid modern head sculpt for him, but for the classic look it would have been nice to have the more sinister smiling head sculpt like the McFarlane Super Friends Sinestro.
Ironically, he uses the Green Lantern mold, which has plenty of texturing while the costume detail save the gauntlets and boots are covered via the paint job.
Scale: Sinestro was more lanky than tall but since the Superboy mold would be a bad fit for him, he has a basic mold that’s the standard height.
He’s eye to eye with Hal Jordan and John Stewart and the DC Multiverse Sinestro doesn’t look way out of scale with his Legion of Doom teammates.

Paint: DC Multiverse Sinestro’s outfit details from the blue collar points to the white and black belt are all covered by the paint. The collar points are mostly sharp with just a little fuzziness on some edges.
The belt is fine with clean work on the black and white lines and the buckle.
Articulation: The Lantern mold allows for some of the stronger articulation in the line with fluid movement and excellent range of motion.

Accessories: Sinestro comes with a bit more than the normal Multiverse figure.
Sinestro gets a burst effect that wraps around his forearm and another translucent yellow swoosh effect that can’t really plug on or attach to anything. Guess it’s just a nice to have addition?
He also has his lantern — cast in translucent yellow. Again, it’s odd that McFarlane Toys never got that the lantern is a solid object not a construct.
Finally, the DC Multiverse Sinestro gets the usual Multiverse accessories with the circular stand and the trading card.
Worth It? Sinestro goes for around $27. For most of the McFarlane run he would have been $22.99, but increased costs for figures definitely dinged the excellent value the line enjoyed previously.
Rating: 9.5 out of 10
Outside of the more elongated head sculpt, this is a pretty solid Classic Sinestro, which was essential before the line ended.
