G.I. Joe Classified Series HasLab Arctic Flint review (2026) No. 228
Arctic Flint was one of the smartest inclusions into a GI Joe Classified Series HasLab. There were plenty of episodes of the Real American Hero cartoon that featured the team’s co-leader in winter gear.
With the lure of possibly the best Flint head sculpt yet, Arctic Flint was a stretch goal I was hoping Snow CAT backers could reach.
Although it came down to the 9th hour, we did get Arctic Flint. Let’s see if this stretch goal was well worth the reach or needed to get stranded in the snow.
Package: HasLab figures essentially have the exact setup as their mainline counterparts with a few alterations.
The front and top note that this is a HasLab offering while the back has 1/3 of the mural image for the Snow CAT. Arctic Flint is No. 228 in the line and has the front section of the mural. There’s also a blueprint image of the Snow CAT on the top and a subtle logo on the front.
Like the others, Arctic Flint has a fun action shot that’s part of the side panel mural.
For his skill stats, Arctic Flint earns a steady 3 in rotary wing pilot, light weapons, tactics and leader. It’s interesting that there’s no Arctic skill referenced here.
Likeness: Similar to the Rattler Gunner in last year’s Rattler Gunner, Arctic Flint largely reuses the mold from the debuting driver/pilot of the HasLab so much of his parts are carried over from Frostbite.
That means Flint has a thicker, Arctic-appropriate jacket. Unlike Frostbite, there’s no thick fur collar that drapes over his shoulders. Flint’s is thinner and looks more like he’s planning a quick stop. In the cartoon, Flint wore a few different winter outfits, but Arctic Flint is based off his appearance in the Revenge of Cobra mini-series and GI Joe: The Movie.
That one was more distinct and makes for a more dynamic looking figure in the snow. Besides the collar piece, Arctic Flint has a tweaked coat skirt piece without the belt found on Frostbite. He also has a holster on his right thigh.
It seems like the head sculpt is the same as the Retro Flint with the main difference being the paint job. Arctic Flint doesn’t have the same 5 ‘o clock shadow and his eyes are looking straight ahead.
The other change is his beret is molded on instead of removable like the previous Flint figures. I didn’t think that would make a big deal, but it does make the hat and head lined up tighter.

Scale: Arctic Flint just needs to standard height, which helps when he’s looking up at Roadblock or at eye level with Shipwreck when he wants to go on the Arctic Tunnel of Love with Lady Jaye.
Paint: Arctic Flint has a fantastic paint job with smooth work all around. His jacket is a nice dark brown with a tan fur collar. There’s a Snow CAT patch on his right jacket sleeve to link him up with the HasLab.
His pants reflect how far the Classified Series has come in painting camouflage. It’s far more noticeable and not the barely there camo scheme used with earlier figures.
He’s got black boots instead of his normal two-tone boot color scheme. Arctic Flint rocks light brown gloves.
His head sculpt paintwork has the same slightly red cheeks like Frostbite to lean into the Arctic theme but the standard Classified Series Flint elements like the cut in his left eyebrow are retained. The red flash on his beret has very clean paintwork.
There is just a bit of overspray with the light brown of his fur collar onto his green shirt.
Articulation: No matter the environment, Flint is a highly capable leader and fighter, so he needs the full articulation scheme of any Classified Series figure.
He has no problem wielding his shotgun, leading the charge into battle and punching out Cobras as needed.
Arctic Flint has:
- head
- neck
- shoulders (butterfly)
- elbow (double-jointed)
- wrist
- wrist hinge
- mid-torso (ab crunch)
- waist
- hips (ball-jointed)
- drop down hips
- knees (double-jointed)
- ankles
Accessories: Arctic Flint gets a few more accessories than his previous retail versions.
He gets an alternate head sculpt with a knitted cap and a headset. This one features a more intense head sculpt, like he’s annoyed he hasn’t figured out Cobra’s plan yet.
He has his trusty shotgun this time with light grey accents to lean into the Arctic theme. He also has the standard cartoon XMLR-1A with light grey accents as well.
Since this is a largely cartoon influenced look that makes sense.
He also comes with a small pistol that fits into the holster. This one is straight black with the accent colors.
To add to the playset nature of the Snow CAT, Arctic Flint comes with some extra fun accessories — two smoked sausages with long grill forks to roast over the campfire, a pan with fried eggs and a coffee maker.
There’s no point in having that if he doesn’t have a coffee cup, which conveniently has Flint’s name on it.
It’s written with the same font as Lady Jaye’s so she probably wrote that so as to avoid Frostbite drinking from their cups. The coffee cup has more sculpting than I would expect right down to the sleeve.
Worth It? Arctic Flint was part of the HasLab Snow CAT, so his value is definitely tied to the Snow CAT. He has more accessory than the…average Joe so he’s a better value than the usual $27.99 price tag.
Rating: 10 out of 10
Arctic Flint was an incredibly clever way to get a cartoon variant into the line in a format Joe fans shouldn’t complain about. It doesn’t hurt that it’s a great figure as well.
Where to Get It? There will likely be some secondary sellers trying to offload their Snow CATs so that’s your best bet unless you want to try eBay for Arctic Flint. To fortify your GI Joe Classified Series forces and get the previous Flint figures, check out the collection on Amazon.
