Star Wars The Black Series Clone Trooper Dogma and Hardcase review (2026)
Hardcase and Dogma provide even more backup to the 501st lineup with the clone troopers for the Black Series. I won’t turn down giving Anakin more legions to command to stave off the Separatists forces. This was a see now, buy now item that went up for sale during Wal-Mart’s Summer Collector Con. Along with the SDCC exclusive AT-RT, the 501st is getting some major backup this summer.
Unlike some exclusives, this wasn’t a pre-order, so I ordered it Thursday and it arrived Saturday. Not bad. Let’s see if this Dogma and Hardcase set was worth grabbing or if these were two clones better left on the reject pile.
Packaging: At Comic Con, the Black Series team revealed a change in the packaging for 2027 — one that I don’t like as much as the current setup. I’m a fan of the accent colors indicating the property the figures are based on so in this case the clones get the Clone Wars orange.
On the side is artwork featuring Hardcase and Dogma although the regular mural with both troopers would have been cooler.
On the back is the larger portraits of Hardcase and Dogma with solid bio explaining their roles in the Clone Wars. Bios don’t have to be long form writeups and the Black Series team has always done a sensational job of telling the story within the mythos with the respective characters.
Likeness: Dogma and Hardcase share the newest Clone body. They have the basic gear with no pauldrons, kamas or additional holsters.
Both have removable helmets with bald head sculpts. Dogma gets a subtle paint job in lieu of actual hair sculpt that gives him a receding hairline and a widow’s peak.
It’s the little things that help make the clones stand out from each other.
That’s the case with their overall look, which benefits from the distinct paint jobs to make them look like individuals instead of factory line clones.
Scale: Like every other clone, Hardcase and Dogma are about eye to eye with Obi-Wan Kenobi but will be looking up at General Skywalker. Outside of Wrecker, the scale of all the clones should be consistent unless they’re wearing some heavy-duty Commando armor.
Paint: Dogma has a brown tattoo over his left eye with a fading triangle stemming from his collar going down to his diaphragm. He has stripes along his arms and stripe with a triangle point above the knees.
Hardcase has a blue strip over his right eye and under his bottom lip. He has a double-lined paneled square around his chest, and his belt has blue larger pouches.
My figure had a slight smudge in the interior line above his left breastplate. There’s also a smaller outside line and dots on either side.

Articulation: Dogma and Hardcase features excellent articulation as they’re using the 3.0 mold, the most enhanced clone mold yet. They have no trouble hitting essential Clone Trooper poses.
They can easily kneel, run, aim, duck and get blasted away in the middle of a battlefield. This new clone body is very fun to pose.
Dogma and Hardcase have:

Accessories: This set isn’t overflowing with accessories covering the basics for clones.
Dogma comes with the usual clone trooper gear – a removable helmet and two blasters. His helmet has some nice paint chip detail indicating he’s been through some major battles during the Clone Wars. He’s got the smaller DC-15S Blaster Carbine as well as the larger DC-15A blaster rifle.
Hardcase also has a unique paint scheme on his helmet, but it’s far more pristine suggesting he hasn’t seen as much combat. In lieu of the usual clone trooper hardware, Hardcase has a rotary laser cannon. That’s a fun unique weapon that helps make Hardcase the big heavy gunner for his squads.
Worth it? This set reflects the new price hikes compared to previous Clones Wars sets, which were $44.99. This one was $55.99 so they’re the same price as if you bought two separate figures.

Hardcase and Dogma are strong additions to the 501st troops helping to fortify the Clone Wars display in the Black Series line.
