G.I. Joe Classified Series HasLab Frostbite review (2026) No. 226

Frostbite is one of the cooler GI Joe vehicles drivers. He’s got an awesome look and he drives one of my favorite Joe vehicles in the Snow CAT.

As excited as I was to get the Snow CAT, I was equally excited to get Frostbite since that was one of the main vehicles in my GI Joe A Real American Hero battles. While we do have two other figures I’m excited about with this HasLab, I had to start off with Frostbite.

Let’s see if he’s a pleasantly cool release or if I’m chill on him.

Package: HasLab figures largely have the same presentation as their mainline counterparts with two exceptions.

The front and top note that this is a HasLab offering while the back has 1/3 of the mural image for the Snow CAT. Weirdly, Frostbite gets the back section of the mural but that has more to do with him being the leadoff figure for the HasLab at 226.

Frostbite does get a fun action shot that’s part of another mural.

For his skill stats, Frostbite scores a 3 in driver, a 2 in anti-armor and Arctic combat. I can’t place his second specialty as I don’t recall seeing that with another figure yet.

Likeness: While I assumed he would share parts with the previously released snow-based figures or any others, Frostbite gets a new mold that’s not as bulky as Snow Job or as sleek as Iceberg. I appreciate a HasLab figure offering getting new tooling.

Frostbite has a unique skirt piece with a sculpted belt, and he has a nicely layered fur lined collar and expanded piece over his collarbone and shoulders. He’s also got a knitted shirt underneath.

Frostbite has a holster slung over his right shoulder. He’s got medium-size laced boots that are also a new sculpt.

To really capture the vintage Real American Hero homage, Frostbite has a smiling expression that matches up really nicely with the classic figure. It’s a great head sculpt and conveys a Joe who enjoys being out in the snow with his big vehicle.

He’s got his fur cap with good detailing leaving just enough space to show some of his hair peeking down.

Scale: Frostbite spends most of his time behind the wheel so his scale isn’t as necessary as some other Joes, but he matches up fine with regular scaled figures.

Paint: Frostbite has a great paint job that gives him a bit more visual pop.

His fur cap and collar are brown, but get a darker wash really sells the fur appearance. This is much darker than the beige color used for the RAH figure but it provides a better color break for his largely white outfit.

He’s got grey gloves which match the tongue of his off white boots.

Frostbite has a mild touch of redness around his cheeks and slight bags under his eyes perhaps from lack of sleep on patrols. He also has the Snow Cat patch on his right arm.

Articulation: While primarily a driver, Frostbite is perfectly capable of going into battle as needed.

He’s got the full range of motion of the average Classified Series figure. That’s helpful in his case as Frostbite can do repair work to the Snow CAT just as easily as he can battle Cobra Snow Serpents.

Frostbite has:

• wrist
• wrist hinge
• mid-torso (ab crunch)

• hips (ball-jointed)
• drop down hips
• knees (double-jointed)
• ankles

Accessories: Even as a vehicle driver, Frostbite comes with the usual solid number of accessories for a Classified Series figure.

He gets an alternate head sculpt with a knitted cap and a headset.

This one has a more intense head sculpt, which is awesome although I wouldn’t have minded having the removable hat option so I could switch the expressions.

The goggles that were sculpted onto the hat of his RAH figure are separate pieces. They’ve got a cool polarized lens effect like Snow Job. He has two sets — one to fit over the hat and the other smaller one to wear over his eyes.

Frostbite gets a pistol that fits into his holster easily. For more heated battles, he gets an M-16 with grey paint accents.

His final accessory is a Thermos/travel mug that actually has a removable cup lid so he can drink his soup or hot beverage.

Worth It? Frostbite was part of the HasLab Snow CAT so the value is a bit skewed for him individually although he definitely feels worth the $27.99 price tag.

Rating: 10 out of 10

Frostbite was a useful member of the 1985 lineup as the snow trooper/vehicle driver and he gets a tremendous Classified Series figure.

Where to Get It? There will likely be some secondary sellers trying to offload their Snow CATs so that’s your best bet unless you want to try eBay for Frostbite. To fortify your GI Joe Classified Series forces, check out the collection on Amazon.
